Despite having relevant footage, we decided that we needed to change our ideas. It was important that we made this decision now as production time was running short. We decided to change our idea to an indoor location as it was much more accessible and we were able to film much easier without depending on the weather.

The Second Filming
Due to personal issues, we were unable to film the parts of the individual girl. However, we were able to film the close-up of the mans feet, the hand-on-shoulder section and the mans arm movement.

The First Filming
We found a ideal location for our filming, easily accessible from the school. Despite the rain, we managed to obtain the right atmosphere our footage. We managed to get several clips of the film we need. On returning to school, we viewed our clips and decided on which we best. We realised that only a few clips of footage we to the high quality desired for our film opening. We have now devised a list of the footage we want to re-film.

We were not able to film the end of the opening credits as we wanted, so we therefore have that to film as well.
Below is one of the clips we filmed originally which we intend to use in our final film opening. The girl appears to be running into a clearing away from something we are not yet sure of, which is creating enigma.

The Planning
Initial Ideas
We came up with out idea by basing the genre on a thriller, from this we are able to devlop our idea into the appropriate style that we wanted. We thought about what we wanted to produced and combined our ideas together, to come up with the basic plan. The idea of the woods and the mysterious character is where the planning started, and after much debate, we came up with the final plan.

Deconstruction:Sin City Notes
Character, Setting, creating enigma - film noir

Title sequence is cartoon because the film is based on a comic strip. Characters are based on the cartoon characters originally in the comic.
Deconstruction:Snatch Film Opening
The film opening begins with 3 black screens with white titles over it. It then moves onto a craned shot of 2 characters. At this point, a voice over is heard and a two-shot of the characters is viewed. The voice over is done by Turkish, one of the two characters. Turkish is explaining the story and setting the scene. He tells us about his character and the character sat next to him. Turkish then explains how he was a boxer, until a week ago. This create enigma because we begin to question why until a week ago?
The scene then moves onto Arabic dressed people. There is traditional Arabic sounding music is played in the background as the characters talk among their selves, this then changed into sound perspective of the characters as they enter the lift.
The fight scene then begins and the music matches the pace of action, and the music is still in keeping with the Arabian theme. Medium and long shots are used in this fight scene to create the setting and show the action that is going on. The editing transitions used in this particular scene are mainly spiral and sliding ones, all of which are used to good effect.

Continuity Task
The Task
A continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom he or she then exchanges two sentences of dialogue. This task should demonstrate three principles of continuity: match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 rule.
Our Idea
We came up with our idea by combining both mine and Steff's ides. We decided to use a simple idea as it was less compicated so we had more time to film the same clip and spend more time editing it. This enabled us to get a smoother more professional edit and finish.
The Filming Process
We began by creating a hand drawn storyboard. We decided to do the filming at Steff's house. We started by explaining to our actors, Jack and Sweeny, about the 30second clip and what role they were playing. We did a run through of the scene and dialogue, several times, before we began filming. After filming several parts of the scene, numerous times, we were able to edit the sections that weren't right or didn't look correct. After we viewed and edited our original filming, we could see what sections needed refilming and developing.
The Editing Process
We loaded the filming onto the apple macs and began by watching the clips we had recorded and deciding which clips worked best. When the clips were able to see which areas needed refilming and repeated the process with the new footage. After settling with our final clips, we moved them into the movie bar and began the final editing. Our opening match on action was already very smooth, so the editing was not too hard and it ran very smoothly. We edited our clips to the best of our abilities. We managed to drop the sound, of the movie shown on the television, and move it over the previous clip.
Evaluation
I think our production was very successful. We learnt alot about the filming process, how to plan, how to film and how to edit to a decent standard. With continuous use of the cameras and iMovie, we will be able to develop our skills further.
